Busy Bee Candles Magik Beanz Review

I'll admit it...I'm a little bit obsessed with scented candles. I'm always lighting them round the house so my home is filled with delicious fragrances. I drive my husband mad with my 'candle cupboard' (yes I have a cupboard full of scented candles and tealights... don't you?) and I'm sure I get some funny looks when I'm stood there having a good sniff of all the scented candles that Clinton Cards has to offer. I don't care though, I love them. I thought I'd found the 'crème-de-la-crème' of the candle world in Yankee, but now that I've discovered Wales-based company Busy Bee Candles, Yankee sure have got a contender to watch out for!

The Busy Bee team is headed by owners Haith and Dee who are also husband and wife. They started off making candles from natural materials for their own use and as gifts for friends and family. After a few years their candle making equipment had to be upgraded from the kitchen stove to purpose built workshops due to high demand and they now run a hugely successful business. Every single product is still handmade in small quantities (no mass production by machines here!) and they have over 200 unique fragrances on offer - imagine how long it would take me to have a smell of all those!

I decided to try the Magik Beanz which are little soy wax melts. Each pot costs only £1.75 and contains 15 'beanz' with approximately 20 hours burn time per pot. I bought three different fragrances to try:

Bite Me - this has notes of lime, orange, cherry, forest berries, vanilla and leafy greens. It's a nice strong scent with a spicy kick to it.

Snuggles - you know that gorgeous smell when you take freshly washed clothes out of the washing machine, well these smell just like that! With notes of lily of the valley, gardenia, lavender and amber this smells like the most amazing fabric softener ever! The fragrance is very strong and it filled the whole of the downstairs of my house within about five minutes.

Monkey Business - I really like this one. With notes of banana, grapefruit, kiwi, strawberry, bubblegum and vanilla it smells delicious! It's got just the right balance so it isn't sickly or overpowering.

I'm really impressed with these Magik Beanz, they may only be small but they contain a hell of a lot of fragrance! They are so easy to use - all you need is a little oil burner (mine was only £3) and an unscented tealight then just pop your Magik Beanz on the top and hey presto! I love the fact you can mix up different fragrances and create 'recipes' for your own custom scent. I'll certainly be buying more of these, in fact, I haven't used any other candles since I bought these from Busy Bee so that certainly says something! (Although hubby says I have to use what's in the 'candle cupboard' before I buy anymore.....yeah yeah whatever).

Are you a Busy Bee fan? What scents have you been burning? Leave me your Magik Beanz recipes to try in the comments below!
