Manchester Arndale After Dark Event - Featuring My Perfect Party Dress From Oasis

Thursday 27th November was the date that Manchester's fashion bloggers couldn't wait for - the Manchester Arndale's 'After Dark' event. An evening which promised to be full of glitz and glamour and a chance to be picked as one of the top 10 dresses which would go on display in the Arndale Centre for the public to vote for their favourite. 

If you read my previous post, you'll know that I was allocated Oasis as my store from which to choose my perfect party dress (if not, you can read it here), and I decided on the Jada Embellished Cowl Shift Dress* which is available on the Oasis website and in stores for £68. I absolutely love this dress.....it's a really flattering shape and is so elegant and classy. The colour stood out to me straight away, so many party dresses are black and whilst I love an LBD, I wanted to go for something different. The pewter coloured embellishment on the tiny cap sleeves help to add a bit of glamour to the dress and I styled it up with a pair of matching earrings* and a beautiful glittery statement clutch* (both available from www.oasis-stores.com).

On arrival at the venue we were greeted with glasses of bubbly, canapes and chocolates and all of our chosen dresses were hanging up on display waiting for us. A very talented illustrator, 'Dom&Ink', was there to draw sketches of the bloggers - unfortunately there wasn't time to get mine done on the night but the lovely Dom will be sketching me in the next few weeks so keep an eye out on my Twitter and Instagram accounts to see his amazing work!

We were each then given a makeup and hair styling session to be glammed up before changing into our outfits. I absolutely loved my makeup and didn't want to take it off when I got home! Once ready, we were photographed and interviewed on camera before being judged by the fashionable judging panel who had to decide which dresses would make the final 10!
