Kiko Cosmetics Smart Lipstick #922 Lilac

Last month, on my trip to Venice (which you can read about here), I discovered Kiko Cosmetics for the first time. The store was packed, full of neatly laid out cosmetics on glossy white counters and music playing loudly to entice passers-by.........I spent a while looking round the store but unfortunately, due to the fact that I was only travelling with hand luggage and I had already packed near to my limit of cosmetics, I only bought one lipstick from Kiko (sob!)

I swatched a few different shades and decided on #922 Lilac. This is from the 'Smart Lipstick' range which is described as a collection of lipsticks with  a "dense, nourishing texture with an ultra-silky and immediate smooth-gliding quality". The retail price for one of these is £3.90 but you can currently get them on offer for £2.50 on the Kiko Cosmetics website here.

My first impressions were good.....I like the matte black packaging and casing with the Kiko logo on the front. There's just something about black packaging that makes a product look sleek, simple and more expensive.

I was pretty impressed with the actual lipstick too. It applies very smoothly to the lips and feels very moisturising to wear. Perhaps not as long lasting as one or two other lipsticks I own, but I can still get a good 4 hours wear from it before needing to reapply, which for the price I think is really impressive. Colour #922 has more of a sheer pearlescent finish to it compared to some of the other lipsticks in the range, but to be honest for this colour, I wouldn't want a bold opaque finish and the colour intensity can easily be built up for a more dramatic look if you wish.

This has to be the most moisturising lipstick I have found yet. It almost feels like a lip balm when I wear it, which I think is a big plus......I hate it when lipsticks are really drying! I'd really like to try out some more colours from the range with different finishes to see what they are like. There are 24 different colours in total so I'm sure to find a few I like! Another big plus for me is the fact that these lipsticks are paraben free - something which is important to me, and you can find out why here.

I'm off to look at Kiko Cosmetics website now and choose my next few colours.....

Have you tried Kiko Cosmetics lipsticks before? Which colour is your favourite?

  1. This sounds lovely! I hate it when lipsticks dry out your lips so this sounds perfect for this time of year. The shade is really different to anything I've seen before, but I like it! xx
